| Ministry and Outreach at UPC
UPC is committed to providing ministry to the people of Belvidere and Warren County through:
*Congregational Care Ministry: serving those who are sick or unable to attend church in person.
*Deacon's ministry: a ministry of care to the community.
*Worship Ministry: weekly Sunday fellowship at 10am
*Educational Ministry: we offer adult and youth educational opportunities through Sunday School and weekly Bible studies.
*Community Fellowship: The church hosts monthly community luncheons in partnership with the Belvidere Methodist Fellowship.
*Simple Quilts: a sewing ministry that provides warm, handmade blankets to families in need in the Appalachian Mountains.
*Local Missions: UPC proudly supports the St. Mary's Thrift Shop and the Food Pantry at the Methodist Fellowship. The church also has provided holiday meals to families in need, winter gloves and mittens to youth in Warren County, and continues to seek new opportunities to serve God where we are.
*National Missions: our members have travelled to the Appalachian Mountains and to Katrina to provide ministry and outreach to those affected by poverty and suffering the devastation of natural disaster.
*International Missions: Our community has in the past supported families in Guatemala with groceries, as well as mission-oriented ministry to China and Kenya.
*What is next? Be a part of the conversation and help us to seek God in new places as we engage Christ's mission in the world.
The Church Deacons and Elders will be announcing upcoming projects on this website.
Deacon's ministry of the month for January:
Financial help for our adopted family in Belvidere who has recently fallen on hard times. The mother is coping with a serious illness and the father lost steady employment. They have several children and are having a lot of difficulty making ends meet.
If you would like to help this family, please put your donation in an envelope marked "adopted family" and place it in the offering plate or give it to the deacons. Checks can be written to "United Presbyterian Church Deacons." If you prefer, you may also give a gift card to a local grocery store or to Target or Walmart.
